From the meeting between the Società del Quartetto and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano comes Schubertiade: a tribute to Franz Schubert that anticipates the celebrations for the bicentenary of his death.
Not merely a commemoration, but a shared project that brings into dialogue two of the city’s musical institutions, exploring the many facets of his music—from chamber intimacy to the symphonic dimension.
Three events, held between the Milan Conservatory and the Auditorium di Milano, form a unified journey entrusted to three outstanding artists: Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Gabriele Strata, and Caterina Isaia.
The Project
The title evokes the Viennese Schubertiades of the nineteenth century: intimate gatherings, far from the grand stages, where music and listening shared a close, vibrant space.
Inspired by this idea, a contemporary itinerary takes shape, placing Milan and the act of making music together at its heart, building a bridge between venues, audiences, and generations.
The journey unfolds in three stages: solo piano, chamber music, and orchestral breadth—through an expressive crescendo that reveals the full depth and enduring relevance of Schubert.
