Silvia Beltrami is a mezzo-soprano with a Verdian vocation and has achieved great success in prestigious theaters, both in Italy (Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio in Turin, Arena di Verona, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Comunale di Bologna) and abroad (Teatro Real in Madrid, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, NCPA in Beijing, ABAO Bilbao, Seoul Arts Center, Bolshoi in Moscow, Staatsoper in Hanover, Royal Opera in Muscat). Her stage presence and communicative power make her a natural interpreter of strong characters such as Azucena in Il trovatore, Amneris in Aida, Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana, Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera, Tigrana in Edgar, Eboli in Don Carlo, but she also masterfully approaches more intimate roles like Suzuki in Madama Butterfly. Thanks to her innate sense of theater, she is an acclaimed interpreter in character parts such as Mrs. Quickly in Falstaff, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, or Beppe in L'amico Fritz.
Her bel canto training must not be forgotten, which saw her as a protagonist in works such as L’italiana in Algeri (Isabella), Maria Stuarda (Elisabeth), Il viaggio a Reims (Marchesa Melibea), Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira), and La gazza ladra (Pippo).
