The concert begins with this question, taking us through Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons as we have never heard them before: from an original sense of harmony, through the imbalance caused by climate change, towards a new and desirable form of beauty. A beauty still possible, but one that must be actively sought.
The journey is inspired by the international project The [uncertain] Four Seasons, which reworks Vivaldi’s score using climate projections for 2050. Beauty thus becomes not only an aesthetic experience, but also a way of reconnecting with nature and becoming more aware of humanity’s impact on it.
Through the dialogue between music and science, audiences are invited to recognise what we risk losing, but also to imagine — and feel responsible for — a future that is still possible.
Music from The [uncertain] Four Seasons and Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons
