Born in Messina, Angelo Villari graduated in singing from the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma and later continued his studies with Alain Charles Billard at the Toscanini Foundation.
After the initial debuts in works such as Galuppi's Il filosofo di campagna, Mozart's L’oca del Cairo, Donizetti's Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali, and Rossini's Mosè in Egitto, he participated in Luisa Miller at the Verdi Festival in Parma and was subsequently invited again to the Teatro Regio for numerous productions, including Il corsaro, Lucia di Lammermoor, Verdi's Messa da Requiem and Madama Butterfly. Among the most important productions he successfully participated in, notable mentions include La donna serpente by Casella conducted by Fabio Luisi for the inauguration of the 40th Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca, Mascagni's Guglielmo Ratcliff at the Wexford Festival Opera, I Shardana by Ennio Porrino, La campana sommersa by Respighi, and La Ciociara by Marco Tutino, all at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Madama Butterfly at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and Un ballo in maschera at the Opera di Roma.
His discography includes various live recordings on CD and DVD, including I Shardana (DVD Dynamic), La donna serpente (DVD Bongiovanni), Guglielmo Ratcliff (CD RTE Lyric), La campana sommersa (DVD Arthaus).
He has performed in major international theaters, such as the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Staatsoper in Berlin. Recently, La Gioconda at the Teatro San Carlo and at the Staatsoper in Berlin, Turandot at the Teatro Bellini in Catania.
