Originally from China, Chuan studied singing at the Guangzhou Conservatory, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in 2012. He then continued his studies in Italy at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, graduating with top honors in 2016. In 2017, he was admitted to the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, where he had the opportunity to debut in several Academy projects: as Almaviva in the children's version of The Barber of Seville, as Calaf in Cherubini's Alì Babà conducted by Paolo Carignani and staged by Liliana Cavani, as Nemorino in the children's version of L'elisir d'amore, and as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, directed by Woody Allen and conducted by Ádám Fischer. During this period, he also took part in the new production of Mario Martone's Chovanščina conducted by Valery Gergiev. Recent and upcoming engagements include the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto conducted by Daniel Oren in Gilbert Deflo’s historic production, Ramiro in the children’s version of La Cenerentola, and the tenor in the world premiere of Madina, all at Teatro alla Scala; Liebeskof in Il viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; Gernando and Ubaldo in Rossini’s Armida in Marseille; Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola at the Teatro Coccia in Novara; Ermione and Armida at the Bad Wildbad Festival; The Barber of Seville in Macao, Cagliari, and Novara; La Cenerentola again in Cagliari; Turandot at Teatro alla Scala and in Tel Aviv; and Roméo et Juliette at the NCPA in Beijing.
