Singing course for the tone-deaf
The Singing Course for the "Tone-Deaf" is an educational initiative launched by the Foundation in October 2011, drawing on the musical, conducting, and music therapy expertise of Choir Master Maria Teresa Tramontin—a mezzo-soprano with the Symphonic Choir and director of youth choral ensembles.
The course aims to help participants discover their vocal potential through the joy of making music together—having fun while learning. Led by Maria Teresa Tramontin, the lessons cover posture, breathing, breath and sound projection, the use of vowels and consonants, and diaphragm control through vocal exercises and simple, enjoyable polyphonic songs, among other topics. The project is founded on the idea that there is no such thing as a truly tone-deaf person—only people who *believe* they are. With the right vocal training, they can try something they have never done before: singing in a choir!
Following the success of the first edition—which had just 50 participants—word-of-mouth led to a steady increase in "aspiring tone-deaf singers" over the years, reaching the current total of nearly 500 "tone-deaf choristers." Meanwhile, the media began to take an interest in this unique project; articles and interviews have appeared in national newspapers and weeklies (such as *Repubblica* and *Corriere*) and international publications (including *The New York Times*), alongside television features on RAI.
The desire to sing and step out of one's comfort zone is high in Milan!

NEW INSTRUMENTS, NEW SEASON, NEW ENERGY
Two years ago, our community achieved something extraordinary: raising over €55,000 in just 30 days to provide the Orchestra with a new set of timpani. Today, with the 2026/27 Season approaching, we are aiming for a new goal: to raise €30,000 to renew the Orchestra’s percussion instruments and continue ensuring the artistic excellence of our concerts.
