Curated by Prof. Maurizio Corbella
– Università degli Studi di Milano
Tuesdays, 6:00–7:30 pm – at M.A.C. – Piazza Tito Lucrezio Caro 1
This series of sessions aims to provide the essential theoretical foundations and a historical framework for understanding the functions, languages, and dramaturgical value of music and sound in cinema. Through the analysis of different genres and styles, the course explores how the sonic dimension contributes to meaning-making, narrative construction, and the audiovisual perceptual experience.
Lessons will be accompanied by the viewing, listening, and discussion of musical film sequences—both well-known and lesser-known—used as tools for critical interpretation and further exploration. The course is open to everyone and requires no prior knowledge: it is designed for anyone interested in investigating the dialogue between music and images.
If you love music and you love cinema, this is the right place for you.

SUPPORT THE ORCHESTRA

NEW INSTRUMENTS, NEW SEASON, NEW ENERGY
Two years ago, our community achieved something extraordinary: raising over €55,000 in just 30 days to provide the Orchestra with a new set of timpani. Today, with the 2026/27 Season approaching, we are aiming for a new goal: to raise €30,000 to renew the Orchestra’s percussion instruments and continue ensuring the artistic excellence of our concerts.
